London, UK Misch & Stock c1900 Near Fine Early Greetings Card
This item if a very fancy and elaborate, Victorian Greetings 'card', or Booklet. Intended to be given at Christmas, it features a quotation from a great poet from every month of the year. Interior text with small illustrations, are in gold ink. Covers, of very stiff card, are stamped, embossed & pierced, decorated in gilt type and lithograph colors, and with silver 'sparkles'. 4 interior pages. Stiff card covers with silk tie at spine. Wrapped in tissue, and remarkably, with its original box. The box has collapsed at the corners, and has some damage to the edges, but is still clean and complete with titles, publisher etc. to front of lid.
Published in England, but manufactured in Germany. Undated - late Victorian 1890s [?].
