Originally founded in by Samuel Beeton, husband of the celebrated Mrs. Beeton of Cookery fame, the magazine was sold in 1862 to Horace Cox. This is a single, disbound issue. There is NO illustrated front page. Present are all 22 pages - pp321-pp342, unmarked but with one small cut to pp329-330. . Never folded. Disbound issue but still connected at the spine. There are many small engravings of fashion interest - some are borders, pattern, trimmngs, embroideries, dress parts & accessories; others are larger featuriing full dresses & costumes, hats, hair fashion, etc. Invaluable period fashion reference. 39 fashion related engravings in all, plus, two portaits of Royalty.
