Original Watercolor of the Ningpo Junk 'Taiping' that sailed from Shanghai, China to San Francisco, Trans-Pacific, in 1939. Presumably painted by Captain Anderson of the 'Taiping'. Making a stop at Quatsimo, on Vancouver island, on the way to San Francisco, the Captain presented this painting to a Mrs J. Foly on October 8, 1939. This, written in in k, to the front of the image. The painting, about 5" by 7", is pasted to matt board. Verso, on paper, are the details shown in the title to this item. Images available.
